“I would encourage fellow students to partake in internships because not only does it gives you real-world experience of the stuff that you’re working on in class, but it also allows you to plan your future to get to the position that you would like.”

“Even with my prior knowledge my instructors showed methods I have never seen and assisted me to be well rounded in the construction world. Construction Technology prepares its students for the real world, which I am living proof. I am currently with Southwest Carpenters Unions thanks to this campus. I was able to skip to a higher pay scale of $36 an hour. I will always be grateful of my instructors and this university from the opportunities it gave me.”

At The Garden Patch Play School, we feel so fortunate to be a part of the Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship program through College of the Canyons. Our students are able to take the theory and development aspect of their learning and apply it to real situations with real children and families that are currently in their care. This personalized approach to education helps them grow in ways that "typical" students who are not working in the field, would not be able to comprehend. From the employer standpoint, the apprenticeship program has offered me a chance to collaborate with like minded educators and continue to grow our program as well.
